I had time to myself this morning to prepare a lovely little breakfast! I shared it on Instagram, so please follow along! Sharing life’s little pleasures with you brings me some real satisfaction. I absolutely love having this little corner on the internet to inspire and reach millions of readers, from all over the world.
Though it sometimes feels like no one is reading at all, the e-mails I receive from some of you truly tells me that I am doing something right. It tells me that I’m making a difference. I’m often stunned when I get emails that divulge one’s personal challenges. I always feel humbled that something I wrote has compelled someone to reach out to me.
When the world feels bitter and dull, let your tribulations kindle a warm light in this cold world. Give attention to things that you love, and to people that give you love. I promise you’ll see more of those beautiful things in your life.
“We can do no great things, only small things with great love.”
I have an abundant amount of blessings. One blessing that I’m so, so grateful for is my health. And you know what else? I consider my mental health obstacles as a blessing. The way anxiety and depression affects me is truly debilitating–I have a hard time getting out of my pajamas, brushing my hair, and getting out of the house, just to name a few.
Some of you noticed that I didn’t blog for about a month or so. I was seriously at a low point at the time, which eventually lead to an emergency room trip late at night. There were many tears that were shed that evening. Truly exhausted and really unmotivated, I refused treatment even if the doctors were adamant that I stay. I feel okay, though. I think the Love in my heart has helped me stay strong.
Have Faith, have Love.
It truly has been a blessing in disguise that I’ve found the strength to write about it. I still ask Him for the courage to share even more with you all. “Little by little,” He said.
Since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, I’m sharing these lovely green ombré pancakes with you today! I think they turned out wonderful and so pretty! The dogs got lucky and got to try little pieces of it. I hope that this inspires you guys to do something fun this weekend!
Green Ombré Pancakes Recipe
2 cups Original Bisquick mix
1 cup milk
2 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
green food coloring
Mix the ingredients in a bowl. Do not over mix!
Add some of your pancake batter in a measuring cup and add green food coloring. The more drops you add, the greener it gets. Add fewer drops to make your stack of green ombré pancakes!
I hope your pancakes turn out awesome! Do you plan on making something green for St. Patty’s Day?
